About Caritas Ruse
The Ruse Catholic Organization “Caritas”—Caritas Ruse—is a nonprofit organization founded in 1992 that carries out the social work of the Catholic Church in the Diocese of Nikopol in Northern Bulgaria.
Caritas Ruse develops social services, projects, and initiatives to support children and families, the elderly, people with disabilities, refugees, and others in vulnerable situations. In addition to providing direct support, the organization works to promote volunteerism and civic engagement by creating opportunities for people of all ages to participate in initiatives, share ideas, and contribute to the development of their communities.
In its work, Caritas Ruse partners with local institutions, organizations, volunteers, and active citizens. We believe that sustainable change happens through the participation of the people themselves—when they have the opportunity to be heard, to be involved in decisions that affect them, and to turn their ideas into action.
Caritas Ruse is a member of Caritas Bulgaria and is part of the international Caritas Internationalis network.
The Ruse Catholic organization “Caritas” is a beneficiary of the “Communities for Change” project, which is being implemented in the municipalities of Belene, Levski, and Svishtov.
